Whole hog shares are a great way to stock your freezer with pork at bulk pricing.
We raise our pigs from 8 weeks old on our farm right outside of Stanardsville, raising them in woodlands and pasture and supplementing with local non-gmo feed. We use a USDA-inspected butcher who packages the meat in convenient vacuum-sealed and frozen portions. You can choose to order your meat free of MSG and chemical nitrates. One share yields an average 100-175 lbs pork total.
Here’s how it works:
- Contact us to reserve a share. Upcoming dates available in September and October 2024. We will require a $150 deposit at the time of reservation.
- Next, choose how you want the butcher to cut up the pork. This can seem confusing if you’re not used to all the options and jargon, so we’re happy to walk you through the different options.
- Your order will finished in 3-4 weeks after the deadline date, and you can either pick it up from the farm or we can possibly provide local delivery (contact for details). At this time, the final payment is due, minus the deposit.
Pricing (as of September 2024):
9.00/lb finished, packaged pork cuts (basic processing: including cured bacon and loose sausage)
1.75/lb bones and fat
