We’re past the “onion stage” of spring, in the midst of lush green grass, and Taxi is grown up enough to be pretty undemanding. So it’s milking time! Georgia is producing about 1 – 2 gallons every morning (even with her calf nursing 24/7), so we are indulging in fromage blanc, queso blanco, teleme, and yogurt. And we have enough for a little garden-boost! A land literally flowing with milk, right? We just need to get bees, and this really will be the promised land.
Adelaide, who just finished nursing finals yesterday, has begun her summer break by waking up early to help document the morning’s milking routine. Notice how many questions she asks: That makes both a good student and a good nurse!
